The only coloring exercises scientifically proven to ease stress

Drawing from the study of neuroscience, each of these three unique coloring books contain more than 75 unique patterns designed to focus your brain through the use of pattern, repetition, single focus, and creativity. It is inevitable that our brains get overwhelmed at times by the bombardment of information, but it is essential for our health and well-being to be able to draw upon our own resources to deal with that stress.

The simple act of coloring has the power to engage your brain, improve your mood, and kindle creativity by providing a mindful task that can forge new neural pathways and connections in our brains. In this series, Dr Rodski looks at the fight or flight reaction to stress and how coloring can help; how repetition, pattern, and focus relax the brain; and how coloring can stimulate the brain to be more agile and learn faster.

Review Text

My husband purchased this for me for Christmas and I'd like to leave an honest review. I really want to like this, considering it was made by a nueroscientist and is proven to help you relax. Idk. I just can't get into the geometric shapes. There is no point already to coloring but with this there is REALLY no point. I have always thought coloring was pointless, I have tried and tried to get into coloring but everytime, without a doubt, I get bored extremely fast. This is what happened with this book. I feel like if i truly immerse myself into it and just start coloring I could maybe get into it but I am really just wanting a different coloring book already (which is what happens when my book and I don't click pretty much immediately). I want to love it but so far I am having a hard time enjoying it. =( Maybe I'm doing it wrong..

I was going to take this to work and SNEAK and color to relieve stress (LOL), during breaks or lunch but I didn't want others to see me. Thought I could just cover with a steno tablet but too big!The photo is the book next to a sheet of letter-sized paper.

Purchased as a gift for my mother in-law who loves to color. She loved this book and another one I purchased for her by the same publisher.

Time passed by quickly when I colored in it the first time. I'm looking forward to de-stressing in the future.

The coloring book is OK, but the patterns/designs featured are pretty similar to those in other books by the author - e.g., brain-science, meditation, etc. The spine of the book doesn't bend well, so can be difficult to color near the edges where the print is full-page. The book also has designs printed on both sides of the page, so there's bleed-through if you use markers (even though the paper is pretty nice and thick) and pressure from colored pencils leaves indentations on the opposite side as well - meaning that you either have to deal with those issues or choose which pattern you want to color. The explanation of why coloring is therapeutic was interesting, but given that it's the only thing that sets these books apart from their less expensive counterparts, and the other issues I've mentioned, I wouldn't order books from this series again.

I really enjoy stress relieving coloring books! This one has some pages that do kind of stress me out with little images to color or lots of chaos on the page. But the majority of the images I enjoy and do help relieve stress.
