    Book details

Introducing Organizational Behaviour and Management is written by specialists for students who want to think differently about their understanding of organizational behaviour. This textbook contrasts perspectives on organizational behaviour, discussing the alternative critical or controversial thinking and debate. Key concepts that underpin this diverse subject are identified and explored in a range of international and everyday examples. This book employs the principles of adopting a selective rather than exhaustive approach to introductory organizational behaviour topics. It applies a conceptual framework to the subject matter, and seeks to engage the reader throughout.

David Knights is Research Professor at the Bristol Business School and a Visiting Professor at Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law. He is a founding and continuing editor of the journal Gender, Work and Organisation. He is also the founder and continuing director of the Financial Services Research Forum that funds academic research and engages in critical debate with practitioners on this sector. He has published widely in the field of management and organization analysis and is a member of the editorial boards of several international journals. Hugh Willmott is Research Professor at the Cardiff Business School. He has previously held appointments at the Universities of Cambridge, Manchester and Aston, and visiting appointments at the Universities of Copenhagen, Lund and Cranfield. His books include Making Quality Critical, The Re-engineering Revolution, Managing Knowledge, Management Lives, Studying Management Critically and Fragmenting Work. He has published widely in social science and management journals and currently is a member of the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Review, Organization Studies, Journal of Management Studies and an Associated Editor of Organization.

As far as a textbook goes for someone to love/like it...this book is a great general references for a lot of topics on organisational management.

I was definitely surprised and was very pleased that this book was all that it was advertised to be. It was also delivered in the time frame stated. I will be shopping on from now on..

A required text for a class. Written by English authors, the book is very difficult to read. There is no flow. The author tells you what he is plannning to talk about it, he discusses the topic at length, gives more examples, discusses again, then summarizes-- truly overkill. The authors use convoluted text so that you need to read two to three times to understand the content-- painful and time consuming!!!

This text is through and well-written. It links the theory to the reality of managing people in today's business environment. I really learned a lot from this book.
