if this was a TV show, I'd have Ron Howard play Mr. Mayer and Nicole Kidman plays Karen the Stepmother for Emily Mayer. The stepmother Karen is a very insecure woman as she wants Mr. Mayer to herself and does what she can to shut out Emily, even embarrassing her in front of her boy she's had her eye on, making it sound like Emily for a 16 year old was not allowed to date! Mr. Mayer for his part doesn't do enough until the crises hits hard that involves the baby (Kerrie? Or Karrie?) and a toy, that I won't futher spoil. The situation is pretty bad as Emily is talking up leaving sweet Valley, and some unexpected characters do manage to convince Emily to give it another chance. However, will Mr. Mayer and Karen listen to reason, or is Emily off to a private school?Read and find out!

Sometimes I thought I might cry for Emily. She is stuck living with her evil step mother and her uncaring father, and she has no idea where her real mother is.Hence Nowhere To Run.Her stepmum won't even let her play the drums any more which means that Emily will have to quit the school band. Her entire life is falling apart and Jessica and Elizabeth want to help her.I think it was an awfully good book, that really makes you feel Emily's hell.

A reader will enjoy this the first time but it isnt really a very exciting suspense. In her early(white cover)editions of Sweet Valley High,Kate William was a very boring writer.
