Fun Coming of Age story with a great premise.Plot:Action that keeps up a strong pace. Characters aren't lost in their navels as so many YA books are.Romance:The cover makes you think the book might have a more passionate direction. This is not the case the main character regects others sugestions that she think of her romantic future but stays focused on her career in magic.Character dev.Astra is a simple girl with a dream and she chases it hard through out the book. She could use a few stronger personal struggles but life is not handed to her on a silver platter.World Build:Unique and interesting keeps the reader engaged.Magic system:Has mystery, limits, and costs.Overall a Great read in the YA category

Now don't call me biased because I love cats. I LOVE THIS MAGNIFICENT COLORING BOOK! I already colored four pages, just for the sheer love of it! Finally, something tangible to color other than 1960's type of flower designs that never change! Samantha Snyder is a true artist with real talent. Volume 12 is an unbelievable mix of words and cats to color that gives your heart a special lift! I am so glad that Word Slinger and Ms. Snyder gave me this book to try in exchange for my honest review. You will especially love to color in this book!

4.5 actual. Well written intro to a magic series. He plot is stereotypical idea but well handled. Even better, the blurb introduces the book and makee you want to rtead it. I look ofrward to the rest of the series.

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. That being said I enjoyed this story very much. The story was filled with plenty of action and unexpected surprises. The characters were very believable and the descriptions of places and persons helped transport my imagination to this new and wonderfully different world. I urge you to relax and spend a little time with the Summer Apprentice...You'll be glad you did.
